29 CFR 1910.184(i): Synthetic web slings shall be immediately removed from service if any of the following conditions area present: (i) Acid or caustic burns; (ii0 melting or charring of any part of the sling surface; (iii) Snags, punctures, tears or cuts; (iv) Broken or worn stitches; or (v) Distortion of fittings. (a) Lowe's - On or about August 16, 2012 employees were using four defective web slings to remove a 20-ton AC unit from a roof top.
