On or about Friday August 17,2012 at the intersection of US 278 and JR Williiams Highway, Covington, GA; a). The employee operating the asphalt/concrete cutting saw to cut loop lines in the highway was not wearing eye protection as required by the equipment manufacture when being used.

29 CFR 1926.300(b)(1): When power operated tools are designed to accommodate guards, they shall be equipped with such guards when in use. On or about Friday August 17,2012 at the intersection of US 278 and JR Williiams Highway, Covington, GA; a). The employees are exposed to a struck-by and laceration hazard while operating and working near the asphalt/concrete cutting saw being used to cut loop detector lines in the highway without a safety guard on the cutting blade.
