Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. On or about August 16, 2012, on a 4:12 pitch roof, an employee installing 20-guage corrugated metal sheeting was not protected from a 8.7 feet fall hazard by use of a guardrail system, safety net system, personal fall arrest system or any alternative fall protection. b. On or about August 16, 2012, an employee installing 20-guage corrugated metal sheeting climbed from the 4:12 pitch roof, to the commercial buildings wall without any fall protection, exposing himself to an 18 feet fall hazard. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION OR DOCUMENTATION ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS CITATION
