29 CFR 1917.43(c)(5): Powered industrial trucks shall be maintained in safe working order. Safety devices shall not be removed or made inoperative except as otherwise provided in this section. Trucks with a fuel system leak or any other safety defect shall not be operated. a) An employee was observed operating a powered industrial truck (5th wheel) with a cracked side mirror. The powered industrial truck is labeled as Ottawa 207. b) An employee was observed operating a powered industrial truck (5th wheel) with bald tires. The powered industrial truck is labeled as Ottawa 219. c) An employee was observed operating a powered industrial truck (5th wheel) with a missing mirror. The powered industrial truck is labeled as Ottawa 217. d) An employee was observed operating a powered industrial truck (5th wheel) with a cracked side mirrior and balding tires.
