29 CFR 1926.552(d):     Permanent elevators under the care and custody of the employer and used by employees for work covered by this Act did not comply with the requirements of American National Standards Institute A17.1-1965 with addenda A17.1a-1967, A17.1:    ANSI A17.1 1965, Rule 104.1, Guarding of Exposed Equipment Of Power Elevators: Exposed gears, sprockets, tape or rope sheaves or drums of selectors, floor controllers, or signal machines, and the rope, chains or tapes for driving same, in machine rooms or secondary machine spaces, shall be guarded to protect against accidental contact.      a) Jobsite: Elevators, Machine Room, 437 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia - The sheaves and sheave ropes for Elevators 1 and 2 in the machine room were not guarded to protect workers against accidental contact.  Observed on or about 8/23/2012.    Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
