29 CFR 1910.1048(h)(1)(i): All contact of the eyes and skin with liquids containing 1 percent or more formaldehyde was not prevented by the use of chemical protective clothing made of material impervious to formaldehyde and the use of other personal protective equipment such as goggles and face shields, as appropriate to the operation: a) In Room 139, the "Staging Room, where 37% formaldehyde was poured from the original 20 liter/5 gallon cube into a 1000 ml graduated cylinder and from the graduated cylinder into the final 20 liter/5 gallon carboy, chemical goggles and face shields were not available to protect the employee from splash while measuring and transferring the formaldehyde.
