29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): a) 10 Winners Court, Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey - A hazard assessment was not conducted. Protective leather chaps were not provided for employees who used chain saws to remove trees. On 8/29/12, an employee who was not wearing protective leather chaps was injured when the chain saw he was using came in contact with his right leg. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
