BTU Enviromental Services, LLC/South Amboy, NJ site- Werner Generating Station: The employer did not verify that the required workplace hazard assessment has been performed through a written certification which included:  - the identity of the workplace evaluated,   - the person certifying that the evaluation had been performed,   - the date the hazard assessment was done.      Condition noted on or about August 29, 2012.

29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes.    a) BTU Solutions a.k.a. BTU Enviromental Services, LLC/South Amboy, NJ site- Werner Generating Station: The employer did not provide proper gloves which were appropriate for use to protect employees:  1) From chemical burns when segregating chemicals,  such as but not limited to battery acids, solvents and paints.   2) From exposure to asbestos during asbestos removal.    Condition noted on or about August 29, 2012.

Hazardous chemicals on site include but are not limited to: solvents, paints, thinners, and battery acid, etc.      Condition observed on/or about August 29, 2012.
