29 CFR 1910.212(a): One or more methods of machine guardig was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: The Niagara Power Squaring Shear machine that was used by the employee to shear sheet metal was not provided with a guard that prevented his fingers from entering the nip point. On or about 8/28/2012 an employee sustained severe injuries while shearing sheet metal on a shearing machine.
