29 CFR 1910.37(b)(6):     Each exit sign must be illuminated to a surface value of at least five foot-candles (54 lux) by a reliable light source and be distinctive in color. Self-luminous or electroluminescent signs that have a minimum luminance surface value of at least .06 footlamberts (0.21 cd/m2) are permitted.    a.  Located behind oven #2, there was a designated emergency exit that had an emergency sign that was not illuminated, thereby exposing the employees to the hazards associated if an emergency were to occur.

29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(ii):     In locations where electric equipment is likely to be exposed to physical damage, enclosures or guards shall be so arranged and of such strength as to prevent such damage.    a.  Located at oven #2, there was a light bulb with fixture that was mounted approximately 5 feet, four inches on the side of the oven which was supplied with 120 volts of electricity.  The light bulb did not have a guard that would protect the employees from contact which could result in electrical shock if the bulb were to break upon contact.

29 CFR 1910.334(a)(2)(i):     Portable cord and plug connected equipment and flexible cord sets (extension cords) shall be visually inspected before use on any shift for external defects (such as loose parts, deformed and missing pins, or damage to outer jacket or insulation) and for evidence of possible internal damage (such as pinched or crushed outer jacket). Cord and plug connected equipment and flexible cord sets (extension cords) which remain connected once they are put in place and are not exposed to damage need not be visually inspected until they are relocated.    a.  Located at oven #2, there was a flexible cord that was used in part to supply 120 volt electrical power to a 1/4 horsepower drive motor, model G636, serial number 026314 that had enough damage to its outer jacket to reveal the cord's insulation, thereby exposing the employees to an electrical shock hazard if the conductors were to protrude through the insulation.
