29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(i): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with at least one handrail: a) Stairways were not equipped with at least one handrail. Employees were observed using interior stairs for accessing the various work areas where the stairs were not equipped with a standard handrail. Each stairway contained 15 to 19 risers exposing the employees slip, trip or fall hazards of 12 feet. b) Stairways were not equipped with at least one handrail. All employees were observed using the exterior stairs as access into the building, they contained 8 risers exposing them to a 6 foot slip or trip hazard.
