29 CFR 1910.134(d)(1)(ii): 29 CFR 1910.134(d)(1)(ii): The employer did not select a NIOSH-certified respirator, and/or, the respirator was not used in compliance with the conditions of its certification: a. On or about August 8, 2012, the employer did not use a NIOSH-certified respirator in compliance with the conditions of its certification in the sand blasting area of the plant while blasting paint from a natural gas pipe. Employer used a SWAGELOK 1/2" black general air compressor hose with a homemade hose-to-hose adaptor between the airline hose and breathing tube.
