29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): Guard for abrasive wheel machine where the operator stands in front of the machine was not constructed so that the peripheral protecting member could be adjusted to the constantly decreasing diameter of the wheel: (a) U.S. Postal Service, Vehicle Maintenance Facility @ 5001 N. Spruce Street, Denver, CO. On or before September 7, 2012, the employer did not ensure that the BALDOR bench grinder used by employees in the facility was equipped with an adjustable guard (tongue guard) on both grinding wheels to compensate for wheel wear. This condition exposed employees to the hazard of flying projectiles in an event of wheel breakage.
