29 CFR 1926.501(b) (1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: This violation occurred on September 10, 2012, from the roof of the rental office and from the roof of building 3740 at the commercial apartment building located at 3718 Gus Thomasson Road in Mesquite, Texas 75150. Instance: a) at least two (2) employees on building number 3740 were performing cleaning work while walking and working from the roof without the use of fall protection and were exposed to the hazard of falling more 20-feet to the ground below. Instance: b) at least one (1) employee on the rental office, was performing roofing work without using his lanyard in conjunction with his safety harness and was exposed to the hazard of falling 10-feet to the ground below.
