29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1)(ii): Working space required by this standard may not be used for storage. When normally enclosed live parts are exposed for inspection or servicing, the working space, if in a passageway or general open space, was not suitably guarded. On or about 13 September 2012, and at times prior thereto, the employer allowed flammable materials, such as rolls of toilet paper and clothing, to be stored directly underneath the electrical breaker panel inservice within the meeting room in the back of the administrative building located at 4501 Shaw Lane, exposing employees to the hazards associated with an electrical shock or an electrical fire. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure materials are not stored directly beneath electrical panels.

29 CFR 1910.305(a)(2)(ix): All lamps for general illumination were not protected from accidental contact or breakage by a suitable fixture or lampholder with a guard. On or about 13 September 2012, and at times prior thereto, the employer did not provide a cover to protect light bulbs from accidental contact or breakage that were less than 81 inches high, exposing employees working within the building to struck by hazards from falling glass. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure lamps are protected from accidental contact or breakage.
