29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1):     Each employee in an excavation shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section except when:      a) Jobsite- 527 Baltimore Pike, Springfield, PA- The subcontractor's employees were working inside an excavation, approximately 6-ft deep, without an adequate protective system to prevent cave-ins.  Observed on or about  9/12/12.    Note: No abatement certification or documentation required.
