29 CFR 1926.96: Safety-toe footwear for employees did not meet the requirements and specifications in American National Standard for Men's Safety-Toe Footwear, Z41.1-1967: A). On or about 09/10/12, at 112-44 68th Ave. Forest Hills, NY Employees working at the site were exposed to foot injuries. The employees wore the pair of causal shoes. ABATEMENT VERIFICATION IS REQUIRED PURSUANT TO 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. A). On or about 09/10/12, on the second floor of 112-44 68th Ave. Forest Hills, NY Employees hoisting material on the second balcony were not protected from falling. The employees were exposed to the hazard of falling approximately 15 ft. to the ground at the exterior of the house. ABATEMENT VERIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED PURSUANT TO 29 CFR 1903.19.
