29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail systems, warning line system and safety net system, warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system: (a) Sierra Steel Inc at 12670 County Rd 25.5, Fort Lupton, CO 80621: On August 21, 2012, the exposing employer did not ensure their employees were protected from injury, in that three employees installing roof panels on a commercial building, with a roof pitch of approximately 1-in-10, were not utilizing a fall protection system. Two employees worked near the edge of the roof when retrieving roof panels from a rough terrain forklift. A warning line system was not utilized and employees were not utilizing a fall protection system. This condition exposed employees to a fall hazard of approximately 23 feet to the concrete below.
