29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1):     Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.    a)  10 West 80th Street, Harvey Cedars, NJ:  Employees were installing a new roof on a low slope roof and were exposed to a fall hazard from the eave to the ground of approximately 10.5 feet.  The employees were walking up one side of the sloped roof to get to the inside area of the roof where the work was taking place, observed on or about 9/14/12.      NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
