Employees/Steel Erectors were installing metal roof decking without immediately securing the decking to the structural steel beams to prevent movement and/or displacement, on or about 09/25/12.

29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1):Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems: a. 260 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Sugar Hill, GA (Jobsite) - The employees were exposed to fall a hazard. Employees were in the process of installing metal roof decking approximately 20-feet above concrete ground level without utilizing a postive means of fall protection, on or about 09/25/12. Kayco Erectors, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.760(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314205212, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/03/2010, with respect to a workplace located at 2288 East Main Street, Snellville, GA 30078.

29 CFR 1926.502(d)(21): Personal fall arrest systems were not inspected prior to each use for wear, damage, and other deterioration, and/or defective components were not removed from service: a. 260 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Sugar Hill, GA (Jobsite) - The employees were exposed to a fall hazard. The employer was not performing daily visual inspections of the fall protection equipment used by the employees/steel erectors. The employees/steel erectors are voluntarily bringing their own personal fall protection equipment and tools to the jobsite, on or about 09/25/12.
