Sufficient access and working space shall be provided and maintained about all electric equipment to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance of such equipment. On or about 08/27/12 (During Hurricane Isaac), in an electrical closet on the north side of the hotel lobby, the employer allowed an employee to enter the electrical closet cluttered with stored items for the purpose of troubleshooting electrical equipment.

29 CFR 1910.305(b)(1)(ii): Unused openings in cabinets, boxes, and fittings shall be effectively closed. On or about 08/27/12 (during Hurricane Isaac), in the electrical closet on the north side of the hotel lobby, the employer allowed an employee to use breaker boxes (HB1, HB2, HA2) which were missing the "knock-out" covers over missing breakers in order to troubleshoot AC problems.

On 09/26/12 the employer did not possess a written Exposure Control Plan. The employer allowed employees to perform normal work functions (housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance) without a written plan in a hotel where used needles have been encountered during normal work functions.
