29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(2)(ii): Engineering controls were not examined or maintained, and replace on a regular schedule to ensure their effectiveness: a) Dental Procedures Areas - The employer did not conduct an autoclave spore test on a Midmark Autoclave, a test recommended to be conducted at least weekly by the Centers for Disease Control, the American Dental Association, and the autoclave manufacturer. Employees were potentially exposed to blood-borne pathogens while using this autoclave attempting to decontaminate sharp, reusable tools, such as scalers, curettes, and glass hypodermic needles they routinely handle. On or about October 1, 2012.
