29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1):     Powered industrial truck(s) found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe had not been  taken out of service until restored to safe operating condition(s):    a) The Komatsu forklift backup alarm was disconnected thus not working properly.  Employees were exposed to hazards related to the operation of forklifts in that the unsafe forklifts were still allowed to be in service.    29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) abatement of the above violation was verified at time of inspection, no certification is required.    b) The Toyota forklift backup alarm was disconnected thus not working properly.  Employees were exposed to hazards related to the operation of forklifts in that the unsafe forklifts were still allowed to be in service.    29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is complete.
