29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Eye and face protective equipment were not used when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents. The employer does not protect employees from eye injuries. This violation was observed on or about October 4, 2012, at the job site where employees were exposed to a struck by hazard when using pneumatic nail guns and were not wearing eye protection. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that employees are protected from eye injuries.
