Standard changed to Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. On or about October 10, 2012, employees were exposed to hazards associated with a tip over when working from a rough terrain forklift supported platform that was constructed with an excessive width. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to comply with ANSI/ITSDF B56.6-2005 and not work from a platform with a width that is greater than the overall width of the truck, measured across the load bearing tires, plus 10 inches on either side.
