Todd Schroyer Carpenter Constractor Ltd. worksite located at 7832 Old Sycamore Lane, Sylvania, Ohio: On or about October 11, 2012, the employer did not ensure a 8 ft A-framed stepladder was opened during use. The ladder was closed and leaning against the structure during use. An employee was using the ladder in the stated condition during framing operations and was potentially exposed to a fall due to an unstable ladder.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(13): The top or top step of a stepladder was used as a step: A. Todd Schroyer Carpenter Constractor Ltd. worksite located at 7832 Old Sycamore Lane, Sylvania, Ohio: On or about October 11, 2012, the employer failed to ensure the top of an 6 ft A-framed stepladder was not use as a step by an employee. The employee was using the top of the ladder while performing framing activities. The employee was exposed to fall hazards due to improper ladder use.
