29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1):  Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent) and toeboards:      (a)  Break room ceiling, on or about October 10, 2012, and at times prior thereto, employees accessed the top of the Break room to retrieve molds being stored there.  The fall hazard was approximately eight feet, two inches to a concrete floor.    Note:  Abatement certification is required for this item.

29 CFR 1910.110(d)(10):   Precautions were not taken to prevent damage to LP gas system(s) from vehicular traffic:      (a) Southeast corner of foundry buildings, on or about October 10, 2012, and at times prior thereto, approximately 1000 gallon propane storage tank was not protected from vehicular traffic.    (b) Center-East side of the foundry buildings, on or about October 10, 2012, and at times prior thereto, approximately 1000 gallon propane storage tank was not protected from vehicular traffic.    (c) Southwest side of the foundry buildings, on or about October 10, 2012, and at times prior thereto, approximately 1000 gallon propane storage tank was not protected from vehicular traffic.    Note: No abatement certification is required.  Items were corrected at the time of the inspection.

(b)  Pouring area, on or November 14, 2012, and at times prior thereto, employees assisting with the pouring of molten metal, were not required to wear fire retardant coveralls to protect them from molten metal splashes and back flashes from flames from off-gassing fires.    (c)  Outside, Scrap Metal Area, on or about October 10, 2012, and at times prior thereto, employees cutting up metal scrap, were not required to wear protective equipment to protect arms from contact with metal sparks.
