29 CFR 1910.269(d)(8)(i)(B): When the lockout or tagout devices were temporarily removed from energy isolating devices and the machine or equipment was energized to test or position the machine, equipment, or component thereof, employees were not removed (a) T8 Bearing Pedestal - Employees working at the T8 bearing were exposed to a turbine oil release. The employer did not ensure employees were removed from the zone of protection before the energy control measures were removed to release the turbine oil, on or about October 4, 2012. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
