Dental Assistants handle and use denatured alcohol while working with the Hanau Alcohol Burner. The employer did not have a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for this chemical in the workplace.

29 CFR 1910.1200 (h)(3)(iii): Employee training in Hazard Communication did not include the measures employees can take to protect themselves from chemical hazards, including specific procedures the employer has implemented to protect employees from exposure to hazardous chemicals, such as appropriate work practices, emergency procedures, and personal protective equipment to be used. ********************************************** a). Dental Assistants did not receive hazard communication training for handling denatured alcohol and in the work practices to be used when transferring the chemical between containers to ensure that it would not be accidentally ignited.
