An employee was exposed to potential long term health effects after coming into contact with asbestos containing material (10-15% chrysotile) while removing an ash hopper from Boiler #3 and wearing a half-mask tightfitting respirator with organic vapor cartridges.     b) Kyklos Bearing International, LLC - Sandusky, Ohio: On or about October 1, 2012, the employer failed to provide and require an appropriate respirator for Class I asbestos work, exposing an employee to potential long term health effects after coming into contact with asbestos containing material (10-15% chrysotile) while removing an ash hopper from Boiler #3. The employee wore a powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) with HEPA filters, however the batteries died and the employee continued while wearing a filtering face piece (dust mask) intermittently.
