On or about 10/17/2012, at 3111 W. McNab Road, Pompano Beach, FL, employees were exposed to an amputation hazard while operating a Delta Rockwell 10' unisaw without a guard covering the unused portion of the blade. 29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1): In any workplace where respirators are necessary to protect the health of the employee or whenever respirators are required by the employer, the employer shall establish and implement a written respiratory protection program with worksite-specific procedures. The program shall be updated as necessary to reflect those changes in workplace conditions that affect respirator use. The employer shall include in the program the following provisions of this section, as applicable: On or about 10/17/2012, at 3111 W. McNab Road, Pompano Beach, FL, the employer did not implement a written respiratory program, where an employee uses a 3M 6200 half mask respirator during spraying and finishing processes. McNab Road, Pompano Beach, FL, the employer had not implemented a hazard communication program for the company that describes the different chemicals used in the workplace. The employees use products that contain hazardous chemicals such as but not limited to acetone, Isopropyl alcohol, xylene, ethyl benzene and petroleum distillate. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
