OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by and/or caught between hazards when setting up certain machines: At the plant, on October 11, 2012, the employer did not have alternate protective methods or procedures in place to protect employees from hazards associated with a task that required a machine to be in an energized state. Among other methods, a feasible means of abatement would be moving the machining of the 16" Danflo valve from machine 268 to machine 1329 so that all tool changes could be performed automatically and not manually.
