29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.    a) Worksite, Southeast side - An employee was walking on a bar joist fell approximately 10 feet to the ground below. The employee was not protected from falling by the use of fall arrest systems; on or about 10/22/12.    Note:   Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards:    a) Worksite, Southeast side - An employee was walking on a bar joist approximately 10 feet from the ground below with no fall protection. The employee was not trained on fall hazard recognition; on or about 10/22/12.    Note:  In addition to abatement certification the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
