Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. On the west side of the building, while repairing the roof, an employee was working while outside of the basket of a Genie S-80 aerial lift on a three story building without having his fall protection lanyard connected, thereby being exposed to a fall hazard.
