Employees are required to wear half-mask elastomeric respirators while painting.  This exposes the employees to organic vapors.  This condition may exacerbate an underlying medical condition.  Abatement Note:  The employer may discontinue an employees medical evaluations when the employee is no longer required to use a respirator.  Abatement Note:  The respirator medical examination shall be provided prior to an employee being assigned to a job that requires the use of a respirator.  Abatement Note:  The recommendation shall provide only the following information:  (1)  Any limitations on respirator use related to the medical condition of the employee, or relating to the workplace conditions in which the respirator will be used, including whether or not the employee is medically able to use the respirator;  (2)  The need, if any, for follow-up medical evaluations; and,  (3)  A statement that the PLHCP has provided the employee with a copy of the PLHCPs written recommendation.
