29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a. On or about October 3, 2012, at a jobsite located at 13601 South Route 59, Plainfield, Illinois, an employee performing a sign/display installation from an elevated ledge was exposed to a fall, of approximately ten (10') feet, created by the presence of unprotected sides.
