29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Eye and face protective equipment were not used when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents. On or about October 29, 2012 where an employee was cutting the long ends of rebar, which extended pasted the concrete form, with a Stihl TS420 saw and hot sparks were flying about his face while not wearing a full face shield, exposing employee to the hazard of burns. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that eye and face protective equipment is used when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents.
