29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. a) Production Area - on or about October 30, 2012, employees were using AFCO 5249 Scrubbie, AFCO 5277 Aldie, and AFCO 6001 Millennium Release to wash and clean the machines without the required and ensured use of eye and/or face protection, exposing employees to splashing corrosive liquid when spraying and washing the machines. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED

29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning. Compressed air shall not be used for cleaning purposes except where reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. and then only with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment. a) Kitchen Area - on or about October 30, 2012 and at times prior to, employees were using compressed air, greater than 100 psi to clean out the machine, exposing employees to high air pressure injuries. b) Shelling Room - on or about October 30, 2012 and at times prior to, employees were using compressed air, greater than 100 psi to clean out and around the grinding machine, exposing employees to high air pressure injuries. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED

29 CFR 1910.219(c)(2)(i): All exposed parts of horizontal shafting seven (7) feet or less from floor or working platform, excepting runways used exclusively for oiling, or running adjustments, shall be protected by a stationary casing enclosing shafting completely or by a trough enclosing sides and top or sides and bottom of shafting as location requires. a) Production Area - on or about October 30, 2012 and at times prior to, the rotating horizontal shaft on the peanut butter vacuum kettle pump motor was not covered, exposing employees to entanglement and frictional burns. b) Shelling Room - on or about October 30, 2012 and at times prior to, the rotating horizontal shaft on the mix (grinder) pump motor was not covered, exposing employees to entanglement and frictional burns. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED
