OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in which an employee was exposed to an aerial lift tipping over. (a) Location - 56 Clyde Street, Somerville, MA: On or about 10/25/2012, an employee was exposed to a fall hazard while operating the Genie aerial lift on a sloped embankment with the basket raised & the counterweight facing downwards. Among other methods, feasible and useful methods to abate this hazard is: to follow the manufacturers operators manual where it states "Do not raise or extend the boom unless the machine is on a firm, level surface".
