29 CFR 1910.124(g)(2): Employees who worked with liquids that could burn, irritate, or otherwise harm their skin were not provided with an emergency shower and eye-wash station close to the dipping and coating operation: A.) Ion Technologies, Inc.; dip tanks - On or about 11/5/12 and times prior there to, employees worked with and around chemicals including, but not limited to, Pels Caustic Soda Beads and Aqueous soluion of Aluminum Chloride. While a plumbed emergency eyewash and shower were available in the area adjacent to the dip tanks, the unit was not maintained in compliance with ANSI Z358.1-1998 for Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment in that weekly inspections of the eyewash/shower were not conducted. The emergency eye wash unit was not activated weekly to verify proper operations. The eyewash had papertowels and a screwdriver in it and was dirty. The caps to the eye wash spouts were missing.
