Employees performed carpentry work while remodeling a home. Employees used circular saws and a Bostitch nail gun when installing a subfloor. The employer did not ensure that employees used safety-toe footwear. This condition exposed employees to a foot injury hazard.

29 CFR 1926.304(d): All portable, power-driven circular saws were not equipped with guards above and below the base plate or shoe, in that when the tool was withdrawn from the work, the lower guard automatically and instantly returned to the covering position: Canady Construction Inc, at 820 Gaylord Street, Denver, CO: On and prior to 11/6/12, Canady Construction Inc did not ensure that all portable, power-driven circular saws were equipped with guards above and below the base plate or shoe, in that when the tool was withdrawn from the work, the lower guard automatically and instantly returned to the covering position. Employees performed carpentry work while remodeling a home. Employees used a Skilsaw circular saw when installing a subfloor. The blade guard was pinned back so that the guard would not automatically return to the covering position. The employer did not ensure that the saw's guard was not pinned back. This condition exposed employees to an amputation hazard.

Employees performed carpentry work while remodeling a home. Employees used a Ryobi table saw while performing carpentry. The table saw did not have a hood which enclosed the saw blade. The employer did not ensure that the saw blade was guarded. This condition exposed employees to an amputation hazard.
