Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On or about 11-07-2012 at 36 S. Ocean Blvd, Delray Beach, FL, 33483, an employee was walking/working on the second floor edge of a structure. The employee was not wearing any personal fall protection and was exposed to falls of 13 feet to the ground.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. On or about 11-07-2012 at 36 S. Ocean Blvd, Delray Beach, FL, 33483, an employee was not knowledgeable in recognizing fall hazards while working on the ledge of a structure, exposed to falls of 13 feet to the grade elevation. NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION
