29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: a) South - Dock Leveler 89: On or about November 13, 2012, and at times thereto, the employer did not provide the proper gloves for the employee to use when handling grease and degreaser when servicing the dock levelers. The employee was using latex gloves instead of nitrile or neoprene gloves as stated in the material safety data sheet.

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(8): The employer shall maintain in the workplace copies of the required material safety data sheets for each hazardous chemical, and shall ensure that they are readily accessible during each work shift to employees when they are in their work area(s). (Electronic access, microfiche, and other alternatives to maintaining paper copies of the material safety data sheets are permitted as long as no barriers to immediate employee access in each workplace are created by such options.: a) South - Dock Leveler 89: On or about November 13, 2012, and at times thereto, the employer did not or could not provide the material safety data sheets for the grease and degreaser used in the servicing of dock levelers.
