29 CFR 1926.701(b): Reinforcing steel. All protruding reinforcing steel, onto and into which employees could fall, shall be guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement. For the Brasfield and Gorie construction site at 300 E New England Ave., Winter Park, FL 32789, as observed on or about 11/15/2012, employees were exposed to bruising or impalement hazards associated with unguarded rebar. a) On the ground level in the northwest corner of the building under construction, employees were exposed to unguarded/uncapped rebar while walking/working in the area. b) On the ground level at the south side of the building, rebar caps had fallen off, exposing unguarded rebar as employees were walking/working in the area.

29 CFR 1926.405(a)(2)(ii)(I): Flexible cords and cables used for temporary wiring were not protected from damage: a) For the Brasfield and Gorie jobsite at 300 E New England Ave., Winter Park, FL 32789, as observed on or about 11/15/2012, an extension cord, supplying electricity to power tools, was stretched across the road and subject to damage from being run over by vehicular traffic. It was observed that a large truck had run over the cord and was parked/sitting on it.
