29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Grinding Room: A Clausing 2274 Drill Press, Serial #50676, was not provided with an adjustable guard to cover the unused portion of the bit and chuck above the material being worked, as determined on November 16, 2012. (b) Lathe Room: A Clausing 2274 Drill Press, Serial # 506939, was not provided with an adjustable guard to cover the unused portion of the bit and chuck above the material being worked, as determined on November 16, 2012. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM.
