The hoist was used to lift bags of calcium carbonate and other material.  b). Granite Shop: The employer failed to ensure that a safety latch was installed on a Valustar overhead hoist located in the granite shop.  The hoist was used to lift granite within the shop.  c). Granite Shop: The employer did not mark the lift capacity of the Valustar overhead hoist located in the granite shop and used to lift granite.  The employer had no knowledge of the hoist's lift capacity.  d). Production Area and Granite Shop: The employer had no record of frequent or regular inspections for overhead hoists used in the production process.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
