29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access: a) At 23951 Kilkenny Lane Daphne, Alabama (Front of House): On or about November 19, 2012 and at times prior; the employer failed to ensure portable ladders used on site for employees to gain access to the roof were extended at least three feet above the landing area exposing employees to falls of 8.8 feet to the ground below. b) At 23951 Kilkenny Lane Daphne, Alabama (Rear of House): On or about November 19, 2012 and at times prior; the employer failed to ensure portable ladders used on site for employees to gain access to the roof were extended at least three feet above the landing area exposing employees to falls of 9.8 feet to the ground below.
