29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): The employer permitted respirators with tight-fitting facepieces to be worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surfaces of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function: (a) At the 309 N Water Street, Milwaukee, WI, jobsite workers were using tight-fitting resipirators for protection against exposure to dust generated by saw cutting of stone sills. However, worker(s) had excessive facial hair such that it was likely interfering with the seal of the facepiece to the face of the worker(s).
