29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use [ANSIZ358.1-2004]:     a. On or about 11/14/12, at the warehouse area, at St. Thomas Cargo and Ship Services, Inc., St. Thomas, VI. An emergency eye wash station was not provided in the immediate area when employees handled corrosive products such as Brenntag Mid-South aluminum sulfate 48.5%, Caltrol 100 (hydroxyethanediphosphonic acid), sulfuric acid-66 93% and Avista P303 powder (hydroxyalkanoic acid) during 55-gallon drums storage and delivery operations using a Mitsubishi propane-fuel forklift truck.     NOTE:  Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met:     On or about 11/14/12, at the warehouse area, at St. Thomas Cargo and Ship Services, Inc., St. Thomas, VI. The employer did not develop a written hazard communication program to ensure having material safety data sheets when handling hazardous products as follows:    a. Employees handled 55-gallon drums of corrosive products such as Brenntag Mid-South aluminum sulfate 48.5%, Caltrol 100 (hydroxyethanediphosphonic acid), sulfuric acid-66 93% and Avista P303 powder (hydroxyalkanoic acid) during storage and delivery operations using a Mitsubishi propane-fuel forklift truck.     b. Employees handled propane compressed gas tanks when replacing empty tanks with full ones during Mitsubishi forklift maintenance operations.      NOTE:  Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
