29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.    a) At the jobsite, on or about 10/19/12: An employee was installing support bars to the overhang on which he was working. The employee was exposed to a fall of 9 foot 4 inches to grade.

The employee had to use his arms to pull himself approximately 30 inches up to the work area.
